Suspected Illegal Entry Vessel Redirected to:
Suspected Irregular Entry Vessel was the operational term used by the Australian Defence Force and Australian Coast watch for maritime vessels which appear to be attempting to reach Australia clandestinely. These boats are almost exclusively carrying asylum seekers who have departed from Indonesia on the final leg of a journey which started in countries such as Iraq, Afghanistan and Sri Lanka.

SIEV’s were given numerical designations. I name my vessels with Titles of Positivity in acknowledgement of Asylum Seekers, as once our ancestors travelled by boat to seek a better life.
